MANUFACTURING
Many reefer manufacturers are reducing costs by using cheap materials such as fiberglass panels imported from the Far East. These fiberglass kits do not have the ability to reach deep freezing temps and they will not hold temps in hot weather. Our polyurethane spray foam has 3 1/2 times the cooling power and will hold temps much longer when you turn the van off when making deliveries.
DEFINITION OF “R VALUE”
“R Value” is the measurement of resistance that hot or cold temperatures move through a substance. Most refrigerated body companies use prefab fiberglass panels imported from far east that have an “R Value” of 3.4 inch per panel. These body companies usually use two panels per wall, which would give their insulation an “R Value” of 6.8.
Refrigerated Van Solutions uses a closed cell polyurethane spray foam that has an “R Value” of 6.5 per inch. We spray our foam 3 1/2 inches deep which would give our insulation an “R Value” of 22.75. We do DO NOT use cheap fiberglass panels.
